Food Baskets
Erev Shabbos and Erev Yom Tov are uplifting times for Klal Yisrael. They’re also expensive times, and thousands of families are unable to cover the basic costs of Shabbos and Yom Tov and afford wine, fish, chicken and meat on a weekly basis.
Here is where Yeshua V’Chessed enters their worlds and brings joy to so many lives. With giving hearts and generous spirits, our volunteers deliver weekly baskets complete with all their Shabbos needs including wine and grape juice, fish, meat and chicken, and many other kitchen and household staples.
Yeshua V’Chessed performs tzedakah matan b’seser, delivering the baskets directly to the homes of our recipients, knocking and making a quick retreat before they open the door. In this way, we illuminate their Shabbos and Yom Tov and bring joy to families discreetly, fulfilling the mitzvah of tzedakah and chessed on the highest level.
Yeshua V’Chessed Gift Cards
Food is essential, but decent clothing and shoes are no less. It may seem obvious, but when families can’t afford bread and milk, they also can’t afford to buy their children the very basics like clothing, shoes and school supplies. These are not luxuries, but indispensable items that are necessary for children to grow up emotionally and socially healthy.
Countless heartrending appeals flood Yeshua V’Chessed’s office every day, and we can’t turn them down! That’s why, aside from the weekly distribution of food and household supplies, we also distribute seasonal gift cards that can be used to purchase clothing, shoes and household supplies—every family according to its need, in the stores of their choice.
Hachnassas Kallah
One of Yeshua V’Chessed’s most meaningful projects is Hachnassas Kallah which provides special grants to chassanim and kallahs before their wedding day. Our office receives dozens of appeals from disadvantaged and orphaned chassanim and kallahs whose parents are unable to provide for their basic needs before the wedding. Yeshua V’Chessed avails financial aid, household items and, most importantly, emotional support to chassanim, kallahs and mechutanim that enable them to celebrate their special day with a happy heart and peace of mind.

Warming Their Hearts
During the long winter nights, Eretz Yisrael’s needy are needier than ever. It may seem hard to believe, but there are many families that can’t afford proper heating or even blankets to ward off the cold, and their children spend the nights shivering, trying to warm their bodies in their cold, damp apartments. When the person is elderly or disabled, the cold can become life-threatening.
At Yeshua V’Chessed, we’re aware of how difficult it is for disadvantaged families to stay warm during the winter, and we send them care packages with plug-in heaters and blankets to warm their bodies and souls. Dozens of families and seniors citizens have thanked us for the gesture with tears in their eyes.
